Today I started a new work

Today I started a new painting. I just sketched, as I always do when I begin something new.

This idea has been parked for a while now, even before Wake Drafter. I was actually planning to wait longer, and I probably would have, if I had managed to complete the previous scene the way I wanted. I didn’t, so here it is.

Line Ripper
120 × 120 cm
Oil on canvas
Neo-Metaphysical style

At first, I imagined it under a different light. The initial idea was a strong, cold light, something that could suggest tension and adrenaline. As I often do before really starting, I tested another option, just to be sure. In the end, I’m glad I did. It may not carry the same mood, but there’s something that tells me this light is more right for this subject.

As always, you’ll have to wait to know more.

And since I’ve been criticized by someone who doesn’t believe these white canvases are drawn, below is a small detail where some of the sketch lines are visible.
