This white canvas may not seem like much at the moment, but it holds the sketch of a work that’s very meaningful to me. The lines are just not visible.

Except for the title, which will be “wake drafter”, I won’t reveal too much just yet. If you’re curious, you’ll have to come back ;-). What I will say is that this is one of the most personal pieces I’ve ever started.

I’ve chosen the light to convey a sense of nostalgia. At least that’s how I feel it; you might experience it differently.

It’s still early to go into details, but this work does mark a change. I’m experimenting with some new ideas. Interestingly, the idea to introduce this element in a Neo-Metaphysical setting actually came from a different subject. But I realized that for a first time, this was the right piece to start with.

The photographic effects I’ve chosen have been used in other works before, but they continue to be effective in creating a scene with a photographic impression.
